You have probably already heard of the large pet insurance company called VPI. They have been one of the major pet insurance players for many years and because of this they are both loved and hated depending on who you ask.

If you’re a dog owner you have probably heard of the VPI dog health insurance option and maybe you’re already a customer of theirs. From an objective perspective you can fall into four different categories as a dog owner. Either you not yet a customer and you can only base your opinion on what other people (and the media) have told you and as we all know the bad news travels faster than the good news.

The second group is the dog owners that are customers with VPI and have one of their pet insurance packages but have yet to experience that you’ll need the coverage that they provides. Being in this group will probably have you being neither for nor against VPI.

Thirdly you can fall into the group that has been (or still is) a customer with VPI but who have experiences needing the services that you thought that you had paid for but where you didn’t get the coverage that you expected to get. This is the group that will be the loudest all around the Internet, the media and in the mouth-to-ear marketing arena. Where the next group of people will probably only tell one of two people about their experiences you’re more likely to tell 10-15 people about your bad experience.

The last group will be the pet owners that have had their pets become ill or get injured and where their VPI pet insurance did actually cover most or all of the cost of treatment and medication. You’ll be happy with the company and will probably stay on as a customer for years to come.
